The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
