The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
