Al-Inshiqaaq
The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
True are the words of God the Almighty.
