The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
