The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
