The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
