Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a sublime garden, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
