Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
