Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 Do not even cast your eyes towards the worldly goods We have granted to different kinds of people, nor grieve over the state they are in, but turn your loving attention to the believers instead, 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 For all their deeds. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
