T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ TaHa. 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 but only as a reminder to him who tears, 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 God - there is no deity save Him; His [alone] are the attributes of perfection! 8 And has the story of Moses reached you? - 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family: "Hold on! I have just perceived a fire; perhaps I will bring a brand from it for you, or I will find some guidance at the fire about the way to follow." 10 And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, 11 “Indeed I am your Lord, therefore take off your shoes; indeed you are in the holy valley of Tuwa!” 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 Verily the Hour is coming - I wish to conceal it - in order that every one may be requited according to that which he hath endeavoured. 15 Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Moses? 17 He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses. 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So Moosa put it down – thereupon it became a fast moving serpent. 20 Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 And go to Pharaoh now for he has transgressed all bounds." 24
