(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful." 19 Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
