Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are verses of the wise Book, 2 And a guidance and grace for those who do good, 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 They are on guidance from their Lord, and will prosper. 5 And of mankind is one who purchaseth an idle discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and taketh it by way of mockery. These! for them shall be a torment ignominious. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. 7 Surely, those who believe and do good works shall enter gardens of bliss, 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He hath created the heavens without supports that ye can see, and hath cast into the earth firm hills, so that it quake not with you; and He hath dispersed therein all kinds of beasts. And We send down water from the sky and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
