And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
