Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron 114 And We delivered them and their people from (their) Great Calamity; 115 And helped them, so that they became the victors; 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture 117 guided them to the right path, 118 And We left (this blessing) for them among generations (to come) in later times: 119 Peace be unto Musa and Harun. 120 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 121 they were among Our believing servants. 122 And verily, llyas was one of the sent ones. 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 Do you call on Baal and abandon the Best of Creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 They denied him, and will surely be brought to punishment, 127 Except the chosen servants of Allah. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 So also was Lut among those sent (by Us). 133 Recall what time We delivered him and his household, all. 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We utterly destroyed the rest of them. 136 And most surely you pass by them in the morning, 137 and at night. Will you then not understand? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
