The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 and made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 For those on the right. 38
