Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what do you know what that indubitable event is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In high empyrean 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 I am bereft of power." 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
