Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 And those that strike violently, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
