The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
