The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
