The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
