The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
God the Almighty always says the truth.
