The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
