Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a Garden on high, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
