The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night as it envelops; 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
