[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 Appoint a deputy (for me) from my own people. 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 "And make him share my task: 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing." 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 But speak gently to him; perhaps he may yet take heed or even feel afraid." 44 They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 So go to him and say: 'The two of us have indeed been sent by your Lord. So let the children of Israel come with us, and do not oppress them. We have come to you with a token from your Lord. Peace on him who follows the way of guidance. 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 He said: then what happened to the former generations? 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 To eat and feed your cattle. Surely there are signs in these for those who are wise. 54
