Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 "The One Who created me, so He will guide me." 78 "And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink." 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 "'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds; 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 nor a loving friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
