HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
