Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 We do not know if this means ill for the dwellers of the earth, or their Lord wishes guidance for them. 10 Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 Now that we have listened to the guidance, we believe in it. Whoever believes in his Lord does not need to fear loss or oppression. 13 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to Allah), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct: 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 The mosques are for God's worship -- so do not invoke anyone else along with God -- 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
