When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 They came to the Pharaoh and said, "We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Universe. 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
