And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 no caring friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
