And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
