Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 your ideas are confused. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
