The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Star when it setteth, 1 Your companion hath not gone astray, nor hath he erred. 2 and neither does he speak out of his own desire: 3 It is only an Inspiration that is inspired. 4 He was taught by one Mighty in Power, 5 by the great mighty one (Gabriel), 6 While he [Jibrael (Gabriel)] was in the highest part of the horizon, 7 Then he drew near, then he bowed 8 Until a space of two bow (arcs) or even less remained, 9 so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). 10 The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. 11 So will you dispute with him over what he saw? 12 And indeed, he saw him a second time 13 At the farthest lote-tree; 14 Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. 15 When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. 18 HAVE YOU, then, ever considered [what you are worshipping in] Al-Lat and Al-Uzza, 19 And subsequently the third, the Manat? 20 Are yours the males and His the females? 21 That is indeed an unjust division. 22 These are only names given by yourselves and your fathers. God has not given them any authority. They, (unbelievers), only follow mere conjecture and the desires of their souls, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord. 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 All that is in the life to come and all that is in this life belongs only to God. 25

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
