A large group from the earlier generations. 39 And a numerous company from among the last. 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 In hot wind and boiling water, 42 And in the shadow of a burning smoke. 43 Neither cool nor pleasant. 44 They had been affluent before, 45 And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme! 46 It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? 47 and perhaps, too, our forebears of old?" 48 Say: "Verily, those of olden times and those of later times 49 shall be gathered to the appointed time of a known day. 50 Then you, the erring and the deniers, 51 you will indeed have to taste of the tree of deadly fruit, 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 lapping it down like thirsty camels.' 55 Thus shall they be entertained on the Day of Recompense. 56 We created you; therefore why will you not believe? 57 Have you thought about [the semen] that you discharge -- 58 Do you create a child out of it, or are We its creators? 59 It is We Who have ordained death among you, and We have not been beaten 60 In the matter of exchanging you for others, and to transform you into what you do not know. 61 And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? 62 Have you considered the soil you till? 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 Aye! we are deprived! 67 Have you seen the water which you drink? 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds or is it We Who brought it down? 69 If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)? 70 Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out; 71 Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator? 72 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
