The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned? 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 We showed him the right path whether he would be grateful or ungrateful. 3 We have prepared chains, shackles, and flaming fire (for the disbelievers). 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; 7 And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. 8 (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you. 9 We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 and their reward for being patient will be a Garden and silk [clothing]. 12 [They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold. 13 And the shade thereof is close upon them, and the bunches of fruit thereof will hang low within their reach. 14 Vessels of silver and goblets of pure crystal will be passed round among them 15 crystal-like, [but] of silver - the measure whereof they alone will determine. 16 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 17 [From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel. 18 ۞ There boys of everlasting youth shall go about attending them: when you see them, you would think that they are scattered pearls. 19 When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. 20 They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. 21 [And they will be told:] "Verily, all this is your reward since Your endeavour [in life] has met [God's] goodly acceptance!" 22
