The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the Great News 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
