The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
