The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
