Al-Inshiqaaq
The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
