The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 Will surely be gratified. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
