And who is more unjust than one who fabricates lies against Allah or denies His signs? Undoubtedly, the unjust will never succeed. 21 And on the day when We will resurrect everyone together, then say to the polytheists, “Where are those partners (your false deities) whom you professed?” 22 Attempting to answer, they will say, "Lord, we swear by Your Name that we were not pagans". 23 Behold! how they lied against themselves! and then failed them that which they had been fabricating. 24 And of them there are some who appear to pay heed to you, but upon their hearts We have laid coverings so they understand it not; and in their ears, heaviness (so they hear not). Even if they were to witness every sign, they would still not believe in it so much so that when they come to you, they dispute with you, those who disbelieve contend: 'This is nothing but fables of the ancient times.' 25 And they bar others therefrom and go far away from it: but they destroy none but themselves, and perceive it not. 26 If you could but see when they shall be made to stand by the Fire! They will plead: 'Would that we were brought back to life? Then we would not give the lie to the signs of our Lord and would be among the believers.' 27 But what they concealed before has [now] appeared to them. And even if they were returned, they would return to that which they were forbidden; and indeed, they are liars. 28 They say, "There is nothing beyond our life in this world: we shall not be raised up again from the dead." 29 If you could but see when they will be made to stand before their Lord. He will say, "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will [then] say, "So taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve." 30
