Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
