So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
