The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created the human 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
