Nay, by the Moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
