Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
