The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 you pay attention 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
