The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
