Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
