The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
